CPO Science designs and makes hands-on equipment to learn about science and math, and extensive curriculum and training to best use it. We've had fifth graders and principals sitting on the floor (so far not together!) engrossed in quantitative science. We've started an online Web Labs to introduce ourselves to more people. The goal is hands-on fun that involves you intellectually so that you actually grasp new concepts.
| How High the Moon?
An interactive way to understand the size of the solar system, with historical flavor. Gentle but quantitative. Also fun! No units, formulas, or huge numbers. |
If You Throw
a Ball... A quickie. The classic physics problem, with a twist... |
||
| Rocket Race
A fun interactive game which, incidentally, gives a feel for vector addition of velocities. |
Reflections
You can see a lot in a corner, if you're flexible (no, it's not the Necker cube illusion) but can you see yourself as others see you? |

Making Waves If you make waves, how often do they wave? Get involved and see the surprising results that depend on your point of view. |

Arch Remarks |
Are our classroom products like this? No, they're better! The time and guidance available in a classroom allows students to try out ideas and really develop concepts in their own minds, via hands-on investigation with inviting real equipment. Try one of our workshops and see! Our curriculum is available in three different levels, to cover a wide grade range, while these Weblabs are supplemental to many levels, each one starting simply and building in sophistication so you can get something at all levels.
Be sure to check out our Dessert Tray of cool approachable science and math stuff on the Web. Not just another mediocre links page!
Disclaimer: In the spirit of the Web and the idea of hypertext, we have placed links throughout these lab pages which lead to other sites not associated in any way with CPO and not under our control. The contents of these links may change at any time and we cannot be responsible for their contents. However, they seemed pretty cool when we built the page!
